CAL licence warning notice

When staff make digital copies of text, images and written music for educational purposes under the CAL licence they need to include the warning notice below.

This notice must be displayed on all electronic and online copies made under the CAL licence, Part VB, Copyright Act . The notice may be re-sized but it must be legible and displayed prior to the content, for example as a header. Displaying the notice at the end of the content is unlikely to satisfy legal requirements.

To ensure that diagrams and images in lecture notes are covered by legal provisions, this notice should be pasted into lecture notes in electronic formats such as PowerPoint. One notice at the beginning of a PowerPoint display is sufficient.

There is a version of the notice available in MUSO. Contact the MUSO support team.
