What is the Music Copyright Warning Notice?

All copies of sound recordings or audiovisual recordings made under the Music Licence must include a copyright warning notice. Music streamed on the University system as part of course material must include a different warning notice.

Warning Notice – sound recordings and audiovisual recordings

Each copy of a recording made under the licence, or any container in which such a copy is kept, must be labelled with the Copyright Warning Notice below:

This recording has been made by Monash University under the express terms of an educational licence between it, AMCOS and ARIA and may only be used as authorised by Monash University pursuant to the terms of that licence

All copies of sound recordings or audiovisual recordings made under the Music Licence should include full citation details.

Warning Notice – Streamed copies

Each electronic copy or communication (online copy) under the Music Licence must contain the Copyright Warning Notice Below:

This recording has been made by Monash University under the express terms of an educational licence between it, ARIA, AMCOS, APRA and PPCA and may only be used as authorised by Monash University pursuant to the terms of that licence

This notice must be prominently displayed either before or at the same time as the material being communicated appears on the screen.

Each streamed recording must also include full citation details.
